FLOOD BRINGS COTABATO TO A STANDSTILL, DAMAGES PROPERTIES

MINDANAO IN DEEP WATERS

July 31, 2009. The city of Cotabato and neighboring areas, collectively known as southwestern Mindanao is literally in deep water as floodwaters arise. Non-stop torrential rain and seasonal high tide coincide with the heavy siltation of Rio Grande de Mindanao, causing a flood bigger than experienced last year.
